New Delhi’s law enforcement scored a major victory on January 29 when the Central Range Crime Branch apprehended a notorious fugitive, Sunil Yadav, in Najafgarh. This hardened criminal was wanted in three serious cases, including one where a court had officially declared him a proclaimed offender.
Acting on precise intelligence and relentless technical surveillance, the Crime Branch team zeroed in on Yadav’s location near Nanak Piyau-2 bus stand on Najafgarh-Dhansa Road. Following due legal procedures, they nabbed him right from the spot, marking a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to curb organized crime in the capital.
The operation was spearheaded by Inspector Veer Singh, with key support from Head Constables Manish, Anoop Singh, and Sukhram Pal. HC Anoop Singh played a pivotal role by gathering crucial secret inputs that led to the success. The entire mission unfolded under the watchful eye of Additional DCP Rajbir Malik.
Interrogations revealed Yadav’s involvement in multiple offenses. The first, under the Arms Act at PS Baba Hari Das Nagar, saw him declared a fugitive by the court on December 12. A second case under IPC Section 324 carried non-bailable warrants against him. The third pertained to the Excise Act at PS Dabri.
For years, Yadav had evaded capture, slipping through the cracks while residing in Laxmi Park, Gopal Nagar, Najafgarh. This arrest sends a strong message to other fugitives lurking in Delhi’s underbelly. Police continue to grill him, probing deeper connections and hunting down potential accomplices. The crackdown underscores Delhi Police’s commitment to making the city safer.
