In a glowing testament to digital governance, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has highlighted how the PRAGATI portal is revolutionizing the resolution of major state-related issues. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, India has surged to become the world’s fourth-largest economy, with platforms like PRAGATI playing a pivotal role in achieving a developed India.
Speaking to journalists at the New Circuit House in Raipur, CM Sai emphasized that PRAGATI—standing for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation—is far more than a monitoring tool for mega infrastructure projects. It exemplifies ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance,’ fostering accountability, transparency, and a new work culture across administrations.
Indian democracy stands as a global model, thanks to seamless coordination between the Centre and states. PRAGATI acts as a vital bridge, ensuring effective implementation of schemes and projects. The Chief Minister detailed how the platform has accelerated over 3,300 projects worth nearly ₹85 lakh crore nationwide.
Key schemes like One Nation One Ration Card, Ayushman Bharat, PMAY, PM SVANidhi, and Swachh Bharat Mission have seen remarkable improvements. Grievance redressal in 36 sectors, including banking, insurance, RERA, Jan Dhan, and Matru Vandana, has been strengthened significantly.
In Chhattisgarh, 99 national infrastructure projects involving ₹6.11 lakh crore are underway, with 50 already completed. On PRAGATI, 200 issues from the state were logged, and 183 resolved—boasting a 91% success rate. Power sector saw 24 projects cleared, roads and highways 23, railways 14, coal 7, and steel 9.
Long-stalled initiatives like Bhilai Steel Plant modernization and Lara Super Thermal Power Project have gained momentum, boosting industrial growth and creating jobs for local youth. Even challenges in the Raipur-Kodebod four-laning, such as land acquisition and material supply, were swiftly addressed. PRAGATI isn’t just a platform; it’s the backbone of efficient, responsive governance propelling India’s progress.
