The threats targeted multiple schools in the Union Territory, prompting immediate action from authorities. Anti-sabotage teams, bomb disposal squads, local police, fire brigades, ambulances, and PCR units rushed to the sites. Thorough searches were conducted across every school premises with utmost seriousness.
Fortunately, no suspicious items or explosives were found during the extensive checks. The investigation is ongoing, and police have vowed strict action against anyone spreading such rumors or threats.
From January 29 onwards, regular police deployment inside and around schools will be a norm. This measure aims to maintain smooth operations and safeguard students, teachers, and staff.
Chandigarh Police urged the public to ignore unverified social media rumors that breed unnecessary panic. ‘Safety of our children and citizens is paramount,’ a senior officer stated. The situation remains fully under control.
