In a chilling tale of betrayal from Bihar’s Kaimur district, a drug-addicted son turned into a cold-blooded killer, murdering his own father over a petty cash dispute. The gruesome incident unfolded in Sirhira village under Chand police station limits eight months ago, but forensic evidence finally brought the truth to light, leading to the arrest of the prime suspect.
On the evening of May 29, 2025, locals discovered the lifeless body of elderly Siri Bind lying in a pool of blood near his home. Deep gashes from lathi blows marred his body, with severe head injuries proving fatal. Police recovered a blood-stained stick nearby, but initial investigations pointed to land disputes or old enmities.
The case began as an anonymous murder FIR based on a chowkidar’s statement. For months, officers chased false leads, unaware the killer lurked within the family. Bhabhua SDPO Manoranjan Bharti revealed that the victim’s younger son, Nanhku Bind, harbored a severe addiction to smack and other narcotics.
Nanhku’s incessant demands for money to fuel his habit often escalated into violence. That fateful evening, when Siri refused to hand over cash, Nanhku grabbed a nearby lathi and bludgeoned his father to death in a fit of rage. He then roamed free for eight long months, evading justice.
Breakthrough came via forensic science. The stick was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), where scientific analysis matched evidence to Nanhku. Combined with mobile location data and tips from informants, intense interrogation broke the accused, who confessed fully.
This tragedy underscores the devastating impact of drug addiction on families. Authorities urge communities to report substance abuse early, preventing such horrors. Nanhku now faces murder charges, a stark reminder that no vice justifies parricide.
