New Delhi witnessed a heartfelt interaction on Tuesday as Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan met with the enthusiastic volunteers of the My Bharat-National Service Scheme (NSS) contingent preparing for the 2026 Republic Day Parade at the Vice President’s Enclave.
Addressing the young participants, the Vice President expressed delight at their zeal and discipline, calling it a true reflection of India’s youthful vigor. Drawing from his own student days, he shared personal anecdotes of his involvement with NSS, underscoring how the scheme molds character, instills discipline, and fosters a deep sense of social responsibility among the youth.
He praised the contingent’s proud march during the Republic Day Parade rehearsals, commending the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for effectively steering the My Bharat-NSS initiative forward. Emphasizing unity, the Vice President declared that India’s true power resides in national cohesion and collective service to society.
Referencing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s enduring legacy, he urged the youth to embrace selfless service and unwavering commitment to the nation’s interests. Turning to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India by 2047, he described it as a shared journey demanding disciplined, patriotic, and responsible citizens.
Confident in the talent, aspirations, and global exposure of today’s youth, the Vice President envisioned India emerging as a global leader by 2047. He stressed that true development encompasses not just economic growth but also social harmony, moral strength, and robust values—qualities nurtured through My Bharat-NSS activities.
Highlighting NSS volunteers’ contributions in literacy drives, environmental conservation, health awareness, community development, and disaster relief, he advised the youth to shun shortcuts, embrace patience in service, and prioritize self-discipline, perseverance, and duty. True efforts, he assured, will inevitably lead to success.
The event was also graced by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, alongside senior officials, trainers, teachers, and distinguished guests.
