New Delhi is set to witness a powerful showcase of India’s skill development journey during the Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) will present its grand float titled ‘Empowered by Skills: Building a Self-Reliant India Ready for the Future.’
This float narrates the transformative story of a nation driven by skilled youth, guided by innovation, and empowered to achieve self-reliance. Leading the float are the all-India toppers from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), recently honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ‘Skill Prerak Samman 2025’ event.
India’s rising global stature in skills is evident from recent triumphs at the WorldSkills Asia Competition 2025 in Taipei, where the country clinched medals and excellence awards. These victories underscore India’s competitive edge in high-level technical competencies on international platforms.
The float beautifully blends tradition with modernity, honoring master artisans alongside cutting-edge technologists. At its heart lies a symbolic human brain representing creativity, critical thinking, and analytical prowess. Flanking it are intertwined hands symbolizing strengthened government-industry partnerships through the PM-SETU initiative, which modernizes 1,000 government ITIs.
These upgraded ITIs also train Agniveers, equipping them with technical skills, discipline, and readiness for both national service and rewarding careers. This integrated approach positions skills as the engine of growth, innovation as the enabler of opportunities, and youth at the forefront of India’s march towards Viksit Bharat.
As the nation celebrates its 76th Republic Day, this float stands as a testament to a future where every skilled hand builds a stronger, self-reliant India.
