Patna buzzed with political drama on Sunday as the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) elevated Tejashwi Yadav to the position of executive national president during its national executive meeting. But the announcement quickly sparked family reactions that stole the spotlight.
Tej Pratap Yadav, elder brother to Tejashwi and head of Jan Shakti Janata Dal, didn’t hold back when speaking to the media in Patna. ‘Whoever gets a responsibility must fulfill it,’ he stated firmly, echoing a sense of accountability amid the party’s internal shifts.
He openly endorsed a sharp X post by their sister Rohini Acharya, who dubbed the new role a ‘puppet prince’ coronation at the hands of infiltrators and sycophants. ‘What she wrote is the truth—100% correct,’ Tej Pratap affirmed, adding that his own decisions stood vindicated.
The comments come against a backdrop of RJD’s recent electoral setbacks, with Tej Pratap slamming Congress for only now pushing to end their alliance after suffering losses. ‘They should’ve done it before the elections, not after losing every seat,’ he quipped.
Turning his ire to Rahul Gandhi, he mocked the Congress leader as a ‘scooter master’ good only at bike stunts and chicken rice, underscoring deep frustration within Bihar’s opposition circles.
RJD celebrated the move on X, hailing it as the dawn of a new era with Tejashwi at the helm. Yet Rohini’s posts painted a darker picture, accusing ‘infiltrator gangs’ of seizing control and dismantling Lalu Prasad Yadav’s legacy.
As Bihar’s political landscape evolves, these family voices signal brewing tensions that could reshape the RJD’s future trajectory ahead of upcoming battles.
