In a stirring tribute ahead of Republic Day, the makers of the upcoming war drama ‘Battle of Galwan’ have unveiled a heart-touching patriotic anthem titled ‘Matribhumi’. Starring Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, this film chronicles the heroic 2020 clash in the Galwan Valley between Indian and Chinese troops.
The song, which has already captured the nation’s pulse, features soulful vocals by Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, and young sensation Master Sunny Dharmakot. Lyrics penned by the veteran Sameer Anjaan and music composed by Himesh Reshammiya elevate it to an emotional powerhouse. Salman Khan himself shared the track on his official Instagram, simply captioning it with the release announcement.
Fans flooded social media with praise, calling it the ‘best patriotic song’ and admitting it brought tears to their eyes. ‘Matribhumi’ beautifully encapsulates love for the motherland, the unyielding bravery of soldiers, and their ultimate sacrifices.
Directed by Apurva Lakhia, ‘Battle of Galwan’ stars Salman Khan as Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, the Mahavir Chakra awardee who laid down his life in the fierce confrontation. Chitrangda Singh plays a pivotal role alongside a talented ensemble including Jene Sha, Ankur Bhatia, Abhilaash Chaudhary, Heera Sohal, and Vipin Bhardwaj.
The film recreates the intense events of June 2020, where Indian soldiers stood firm against aggression, showcasing their valor and patriotism. With a teaser already out, anticipation is building for its big-screen release on April 17, 2026. As Republic Day approaches, ‘Matribhumi’ serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices that define our freedom.
