Uttar Pradesh is celebrating its 77th Foundation Day with immense pride and enthusiasm on Saturday. This significant milestone marks the day in 1950 when the United Provinces was officially renamed Uttar Pradesh, a change that has been commemorated annually ever since. The occasion has drawn warm greetings from top leaders, including President Droupadi Murmu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.
In a heartfelt message posted on the official X handle of Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu extended her best wishes to the people of Uttar Pradesh. She highlighted the state’s glorious history and rich cultural heritage, noting how this land has served as a strong pillar in India’s journey towards development. ‘I am confident that Uttar Pradesh will continue to march ahead on the path of progress,’ she said, expressing hopes for a bright future for the state’s hardworking and talented populace.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed similar sentiments in his X post, describing Uttar Pradesh as the sacred land nurtured by the eternal Sanatan culture and the fertile plains of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. He praised the state for guiding the nation on paths of culture, devotion, strength, and resolve. Shah pointed to the achievements under the double-engine government, where Uttar Pradesh is setting new benchmarks in development and world-class infrastructure. ‘I wish for the state to always stay on the path of progress,’ he added.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya celebrated the day by invoking the spiritual legacy of the state, home to Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, and Lord Shiva. ‘Uttar Pradesh is where tradition and progress walk hand in hand,’ he wrote, listing iconic elements like the consciousness of Kashi, resolve of Ayodhya, devotion of Mathura, confluence of Prayag, valor of Bundelkhand, and folk traditions of Awadh and Purvanchal. Under PM Narendra Modi’s guidance, the double-engine government is propelling the state towards development, good governance, and welfare, aiming for a ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh – Viksit Bharat’ vision.
Legislator Rajeshwar Singh from Sarojini Nagar also joined the chorus, portraying Uttar Pradesh not just as a geographical entity but as the living soul of India, enriched by the divinity of Kashi, spirituality of Prayag, righteousness of Ayodhya, and sweetness of Mathura. He lauded PM Modi’s visionary leadership and CM Yogi Adityanath’s inclusive governance, crediting them for transforming the state into a leader in investments, expressways, airports, metro expansions, industrial corridors, startups, and law enforcement. On this 77th Foundation Day, Uttar Pradesh stands as the pivot of nation-building, secure, prosperous, and self-reliant.
