In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, Patna Police arrested key members of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang following an intense encounter on Friday. The primary suspect, Parmanand Yadav alias Nepali, was nabbed after a chase, while three others—Neeraj Kumar alias Vicky, Chandan Kumar, and Shivam Anand—were rounded up from their hideout in the Beur area.
Patna’s West SP, Bhanu Pratap Singh, detailed the operation during a press briefing. Acting on a tip-off about four gangsters plotting criminal activities in the city, police raided their location Thursday morning. The suspects fled, with Parmanand heading towards Jehanabad and the trio hiding locally. A joint team of Patna Police and STF cornered and captured them.
Neeraj Kumar managed the gang’s finances and accounts, underscoring the outfit’s structured operations. Parmanand faces over 20 serious cases across Bihar and Jharkhand. From their possession, authorities recovered a country-made revolver, six live cartridges, Rs 40,000 in cash, Nepali currency worth Rs 5,110, and passports indicating travels to Nepal and Malaysia—hints at international links.
Senior officers emphasized the gravity of the case, with STF and special agencies now leading interrogations. Investigators are probing the gang’s motives in Patna, potential targets, and broader networks. A technical team is verifying ties to Lawrence Bishnoi himself. This crackdown sends a strong message to underworld elements infiltrating Bihar, as police vow to dismantle such syndicates completely.
