RANCHI: In a significant leadership transition, Aditya Sahu formally assumed the role of Jharkhand BJP president on Friday, marking a new chapter for the party’s state unit. The ceremony, held at the party headquarters, was steeped in tradition, beginning with Saraswati Puja on the auspicious occasion of Vasant Panchami.
Addressing a gathering of party leaders and workers, Sahu emphasized the fertile ground Jharkhand offers for BJP’s growth. ‘This state is ripe for progress under BJP’s vision,’ he declared, expressing firm confidence in forming a ‘double-engine’ government soon. He highlighted the unwavering dedication of grassroots workers as the party’s true strength.
Sahu outlined his priorities: strengthening the organization from the ground up and spreading BJP’s ideology to every village and individual. From his humble beginnings as a booth-level activist, his ascent to state president exemplifies the party’s merit-based culture, he noted gratefully.
Paying homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary, Sahu recalled Netaji’s deep ties to Jharkhand, where he once rallied against British rule. ‘Let us draw inspiration to forge a new identity for our state,’ he urged.
Opposition leader Babulal Marandi praised Sahu’s extensive organizational experience, from booths to top posts, assuring him of no need for guidance. Marandi also supported separating the roles of party president and legislative leader to boost efficiency.
As Sahu steps into this pivotal role ahead of key elections, his focus on grassroots empowerment and governance promises a revitalized BJP in Jharkhand.
