NOIDA: In a significant escalation in the investigation into the tragic death of software engineer Yuvraj, a high-level meeting was convened late last night at the Noida Authority office. Chaired by Special Investigation Team (SIT) head and ADG Bhanu Bhaskar, the session included Divisional Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami and PWD Chief Engineer Ajay Verma.
Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, District Magistrate Medha Rupam, Noida Authority ACEO Krishna Karunesh, and ACEO Satish Pal were summoned to provide detailed explanations on the incident. The SIT made it crystal clear: no negligence at any level will be tolerated. Departments have been directed to submit written responses by Friday, covering all facts and queries related to the mishap.
The SIT is set to return to Noida on Friday for a thorough review of these submissions. Sources reveal the team has raised seven critical points, prompting officials to compile over 60 pages of comprehensive reports. Disaster management reports from the district administration are also being prepared for handover.
Key questions include coordination levels between control rooms, field staff, and departments during the incident; response time after receiving information; rescue efforts undertaken; lapses in relief operations; and details on Sports City plot allotment, including timelines for basic infrastructure like roads, safety measures, water, and sewerage.
The probe also scrutinizes a prior truck accident at the same spot and subsequent precautionary actions by authorities. With the final report due to the state government on January 24, anticipation runs high for strict action against those found guilty. The administrative circles are abuzz, under the watchful eye of the state leadership.
