Mumbai’s cricketing circles are buzzing with the latest squad update from the Women’s Premier League. Gujarat Giants have swiftly moved to bolster their lineup for the remaining matches of WPL 2026 by roping in talented all-rounder Jintimani Kalita as a replacement for the injured Titas Sadhu.
Kalita, a left-handed batter and right-arm medium pacer, brings valuable experience to the table. She has already featured in two WPL seasons, donning the Mumbai Indians jersey across 13 matches. Her versatility makes her a perfect fit for the Giants, who have secured her services for INR 10 lakh.
The team, currently languishing at the bottom of the points table with just two wins from five games, desperately needs this injection of form to push for playoff contention. Kalita’s arrival could be the catalyst they need to turn their campaign around.
Titas Sadhu, who joined Gujarat Giants from Delhi Capitals ahead of this season, unfortunately hasn’t played a single match due to injury. Her promising international career, including a T20I debut against Bangladesh in 2023 and a ODI bow in 2024, has been hampered by this setback. Her last international outing was against Ireland in early 2025.
This strategic replacement underscores the Giants’ commitment to staying competitive. As WPL 2026 heats up, all eyes will be on how Kalita adapts and contributes to her new team’s revival story.
