Patna, January 21: Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on the MGNREGA scheme. Rahul had accused the central government of dishonoring Mahatma Gandhi by effectively dismantling the program. In a sharp rebuttal, Yadav declared that for his party, the nation comes first, while for Congress, it’s always the family.
Speaking to reporters in Patna, Yadav accused Congress of being the real culprits in tarnishing Gandhi’s legacy through lies, corruption, and plundering the nation’s wealth. ‘They emptied the treasury and shattered brotherhood,’ he said. ‘We are the true guardians of the country, ready to do anything for its protection. Our motto is nation first.’
Turning to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent comments on infiltration, Yadav endorsed the PM’s stance wholeheartedly. He criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allegedly sheltering infiltrators to protect her vote bank. ‘Our government will never allow this. We welcome PM Modi’s firm commitment,’ he added.
Responding to a post by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya on X, Yadav challenged her to compare crime statistics. ‘Show the figures from their 15 years of misrule and our 20 years in power. Crime was rampant under them. We stuff criminals into prisons. Our good governance ensures strict action against lawbreakers—no one escapes.’
On Congress summoning Bihar MLAs to Delhi, Yadav noted that when the state president called them earlier, they didn’t go. ‘Something’s brewing now that the high command has intervened,’ he speculated, hinting at internal party maneuvers.
