AHMEDABAD, India – Riddhima Dilawari, fresh off a runner-up finish last week, seized a one-shot lead after the opening round of the second leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT) 2026 at Kalhar Blues & Greens here on Wednesday.
Dilawari carded a solid 2-under 70, showcasing remarkable composure over the final eight holes. She kicked off the season’s second tournament with back-to-back birdies on the 7th and 8th, recovering from bogeys on the 5th and 10th. Another burst came on the 14th and 15th, propelling her to the top of the leaderboard.
Sneha Singh, aiming to rebound from a lackluster first leg, delivered a bogey-free round but managed just one birdie on the par-3 16th, finishing at 1-under 71 for second place.
A six-way tie for fifth at 1-over 73 featured 2025 Order of Merit winner Vani Kapoor, Jahnavi Bakshi, Nayanika Sanga, amateur Mahreen Bhatia, Karishma Govind, and rookie pro Sanvi Somu.
Dilawari, focusing on domestic WPGT and IGL events this year, started with four pars before a bogey on the par-5 fifth. Birdies on seven and eight got her back on track, and despite another setback on the 10th, her late surge sealed the lead.
Sneha, a two-time winner in 2025, strung together 15 straight pars before her lone birdie, closing with two more pars for 71.
Amandeep notched two birdies but a double bogey hurt her score, while amateur Zara opened with a bogey and added another on 17.
Among the fifth-place group, Nayanika Sanga led with five birdies but suffered four bogeys, including a triple on the par-3 seventh after three early slips. Vani Kapoor recovered from a shaky start with birdies on nine and 11 but dropped a shot on the par-5 14th.
Defending leg winner Jasmin Shekhar struggled, posting 7-over 79 with four bogeys, two double bogeys, and a lone birdie on the last.
With three rounds left, Dilawari’s steady play positions her well to challenge for her first WPGT title of 2026.
