In a landmark announcement at the World Economic Forum in Davos, AM Green Group has inked a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invest UP, the investment promotion arm of the Uttar Pradesh government. This pact paves the way for a colossal 1 gigawatt AI data center in Greater Noida, backed by an investment of approximately $25 billion.

The agreement, witnessed by senior UP officials and AM Green executives, marks a pivotal step in positioning Uttar Pradesh as India’s premier hub for digital infrastructure. The facility is designed to power global AI workloads, leveraging cutting-edge technology to support everything from research labs to industrial applications.

Slated for phased development, the project will see its initial capacity operational by 2028, with full 1GW scaling up by 2030. What sets this apart is its commitment to sustainability: the entire data center will run on carbon-free green energy, aligning with global efforts to build a cleaner digital economy.

AM Green emphasized that this initiative will house around 500,000 high-performance chipsets, catering to the surging demand for high-performance computing from tech giants, AI research entities, major industries, and government AI programs. It directly supports India’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision by accelerating AI-driven growth and digital services.

Chairman Anil Chalamalashetty highlighted how this expansion embodies the company’s tech-centric ethos, enabling integrated solutions across sectors. President Mahesh Kolli added that combining 24/7 green power with massive computing muscle creates a sustainable blueprint for future global AI infrastructure, bolstered by UP government’s full support.

This project promises to empower Indian developers with superior access to advanced chips, fast-tracking AI solutions for domestic and international markets. Spanning energy, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, media, gaming, and government cloud services, AM Green’s AI ecosystem is poised to transform industries.

As one of India’s largest investments, the data center will not only drive economic growth in Uttar Pradesh but also cement the state’s role as a global AI powerhouse, fostering innovation and job creation on an unprecedented scale.
