New Delhi buzzed with excitement on Tuesday as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters erupted in celebrations. Drums beat loudly while leaders and workers cheered the appointment of Nitin Nabin as the party’s national president. The formal announcement came the same day, marking a historic moment for the world’s largest political outfit.
BJP MP Anurag Thakur extended heartfelt congratulations to the 45-year-old leader. ‘Nitin Nabin has risen through the ranks impressively,’ Thakur told reporters. A five-time MLA and former minister, Nabin held key roles including state youth wing general secretary and president. His swift ascent underscores merit over nepotism.
Thakur hailed this as a powerful message for Generation Z. ‘BJP is urging young people to step into politics, join the mainstream, and contribute to nation-building,’ he said. He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to bring one lakh youth into politics, emphasizing the party’s commitment to fresh talent.
Looking ahead, Thakur expressed confidence amid challenges in states like Bihar, Bengal, and Tamil Nadu. ‘With PM Modi’s popularity, Amit Shah’s strategy, and now a dynamic young president, BJP will overcome all hurdles,’ he asserted. He predicted a BJP victory in Bengal, waving the saffron flag high, and NDA governments elsewhere.
Addressing dynasty politics accusations, Thakur contrasted BJP’s approach. ‘Other parties hand positions based on family ties; we reward hard work and dedication,’ he stated firmly.
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa praised Nabin’s visit to a gurdwara before assuming charge, calling it a proud moment. Bihar MLA Birendra Singh noted it was the first time PM Modi and Amit Shah selected someone from Bihar for this top post, extending warm wishes from his state.
This leadership shift signals BJP’s focus on youth empowerment and organizational strength as it gears up for future electoral battles.
