Mumbai’s entertainment scene is buzzing as Bhojpuri star Vinay Anand gears up for a digital comeback. Known for over 50 films like ‘Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya’ and ‘Sautele’, Anand is shifting focus from big screens to OTT platforms with his upcoming show ‘ACP Vikrant’.
In an exclusive chat, Anand opened up about the project that marks his return after a thoughtful hiatus. ‘People kept asking when I’d return to films, but I waited for the right script,’ he shared. ‘When the writer approached with this story, I couldn’t say no. Shooting’s wrapped, and fans should download the Kutting App to catch it soon.’
The role, he promises, is a fresh challenge unlike anything in his career. ‘Viewers will see a new Vinay Anand on OTT – something never witnessed before,’ he enthused. With quality content booming on streaming services, Anand eyes more such ventures.
Reflecting on his career pivot from Hindi to Bhojpuri cinema, Anand explained the appeal. ‘Hindi requires careful choices. Bhojpuri gave me respect, money, and honor through 70-plus films. Now OTT offers prime opportunities – why miss out?’
Turning to family, Anand spoke warmly about his uncle, superstar Govinda, and aunt Sunita Ahuja. ‘Govinda’s been an MP and linked with Shiv Sena, so politics isn’t surprising. But from my heart, I pray our mama-mami duo stays strong forever, untouched by evil eyes.’
Addressing recent divorce rumors fueled by Sunita’s YouTube revelations of tough times, Anand urged caution. ‘No father wants to not support his son. If mami says so, I’ll tell mama to pay more attention. Both are vital to me.’
As Anand steps into this new phase, fans eagerly await his reinvented avatar, blending nostalgia with innovation in the evolving world of Indian entertainment.
