A harrowing incident of domestic violence has surfaced from the Ambikapur district of Chhattisgarh, where a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her own husband and daughter. The local police have arrested the two accused in connection with the murder of Durga Chaudhary. According to the investigation, the motive behind this brutal act was the victim’s persistent alcohol addiction, which had long been a source of tension within the household. On the night of December 29, a heated argument broke out regarding her drinking habits, which quickly escalated into a violent physical assault. The husband and daughter reportedly beat her severely, leaving her with critical internal injuries. Although she was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical intervention, she ultimately succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Following a formal complaint and subsequent probe, the Ambikapur Kotwali police took the father-daughter duo into custody and presented them before a magistrate, who remanded them to judicial custody.
