A chilling murder mystery that remained unsolved for ten months in Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh, has finally been unraveled by the local police. The victim, 55-year-old Sunita Rajak, was brutally killed by a man named Suraj Dhruv after she requested a lift on his motorcycle. Sunita was returning from her elder sister’s house after visiting a local fair in Patewa when she went missing on January 30. The accused lured her with the promise of a job and jewelry, keeping her captive in a vacant house for nearly a month and a half. When she began insisting on returning to her family, Dhruv took her to the Sagon forest, strangled her using her own saree, and set her body on fire to destroy evidence. The case was cracked after a DNA test confirmed the identity of the charred remains found on April 2. Police have arrested Dhruv and recovered stolen ornaments.
