New Delhi: On the occasion of Army Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led the nation in paying heartfelt tributes to the Indian Army’s brave soldiers. Their messages highlighted the unparalleled courage, sacrifice, and valor that define the armed forces.
PM Modi took to social media to express his admiration, stating that the soldiers’ dedication to the motherland inspires every Indian. He emphasized how their selfless service strengthens the resolve of 140 crore countrymen to build a self-reliant and secure India.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh echoed similar sentiments, saluting the jawans who guard the nation’s borders under the harshest conditions. He praised their role in maintaining peace and security, underscoring that the army’s spirit of sacrifice is the bedrock of India’s sovereignty.
The celebrations marking the 76th Army Day were held across the country, with special events at military stations. Army Day commemorates the historic moment in 1949 when General K.M. Cariappa became the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, taking over from British leadership.
This year’s observance comes amid ongoing security challenges along the borders, making the tributes even more poignant. The leaders’ words serve as a reminder of the army’s pivotal role in nation-building and defending democracy.
As parades, wreath-laying ceremonies, and cultural programs unfolded, the nation united in gratitude. PM Modi and Rajnath Singh’s homage not only honors past sacrifices but also motivates the current generation of soldiers to continue their legacy of bravery.
