A tragic incident has unfolded in Korba, Chhattisgarh, where a young man allegedly took his own life by drinking perfume and subsequently hanging himself. The deceased’s family has expressed concerns that the young man was suffering from mental distress due to unknown reasons, speculating that he may have been a victim of black magic. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
The victim has been identified as Vidyasagar, a 28-year-old mechanic residing in Katghora. He was married last year and his wife is reportedly pregnant. According to his family, Vidyasagar was known for his calm, polite, and hardworking nature. While he occasionally consumed alcohol, no severe issues had surfaced previously.
Family members reported that Vidyasagar had ordered a perfume online a few days prior to the incident. On Monday, January 5th, he returned home from work and asked his younger brother for the perfume. He then applied it and took the bottle to his room. It is alleged by the family that he consumed the perfume in his room before tragically ending his life by hanging.
When the family called out to him and received no response, they entered his room to find a disturbing scene. Vidyasagar was found hanging. The family immediately took him down and rushed him to the Katghora government hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to the district medical college hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Upon receiving information, the Katghora police arrived at the scene. An empty perfume bottle was recovered from the room, strengthening the suspicion that the young man ingested the perfume before committing suicide. The police have conducted a post-mortem examination and recorded the statements of the family members.
The family insists that Vidyasagar’s mental state had been unstable in recent days, with fluctuating moods. They suspect that supernatural influences or black magic were responsible for his distress and subsequent actions. The police investigation is ongoing to ascertain the exact cause of death.
