In mixed doubles, Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping outlasted teammates Chiang Chenpang and Wei Yaxin 21-19, 21-19 to bag the gold, while the silver went to the Chinese pair as well, highlighting internal rivalry at its finest.
Shi Yuqi’s men’s singles campaign ended in heartbreak. Facing Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the final, Shi saved multiple game points in the first game but fell 21-23. A back injury forced him to retire in the second, settling for silver.
Wang Zhiyi battled valiantly in women’s singles against South Korea’s An Se-young. After losing the first game 15-21, Wang led briefly in the second but succumbed 22-24, earning silver.
