Patna, Bihar: In a sharp political move, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has called upon the Bihar government to release a comprehensive white paper detailing the expenditure of public funds. The demand comes amid growing concerns over financial transparency in the state.
RJD spokesperson voiced strong criticism against the Nitish Kumar-led administration, accusing it of mismanaging taxpayer money without proper accountability. ‘The people of Bihar deserve to know how every rupee allocated for development is being spent,’ the spokesperson emphasized during a press conference in Patna.
The opposition party highlighted several alleged irregularities, including delays in welfare scheme disbursements and questionable allocations to infrastructure projects. They argued that a white paper would serve as an official document to clarify these issues and restore public trust.
This demand gains significance as Bihar approaches key electoral battles. RJD leaders pointed to recent audits revealing discrepancies in fund utilization across departments like health, education, and rural development. ‘Opacity in government spending breeds corruption,’ they warned.
The Bihar government has yet to respond officially to the RJD’s call. Political analysts suggest this could escalate into a major flashpoint, forcing the ruling alliance to address fiscal accountability head-on. As debates intensify, citizens await clarity on how their hard-earned money is being utilized for the state’s progress.
