President Donald Trump issued a forceful warning to Iran, asserting that the United States will retaliate militarily if the nation seeks to rebuild its ballistic missile or nuclear capabilities. Speaking to reporters alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago residence, Trump stressed that American surveillance of Iran’s activities is constant.
“If they are [trying to build up again], we are going to have to knock them down. We will knock them down. We will knock the hell out of them,” Trump stated emphatically.
He confirmed that the U.S. would take immediate action if Iran moves towards restarting its nuclear program and indicated support for Israel’s efforts against Iran’s missile development. Trump also indicated a preference for Iran to engage in negotiations.
“The other is: We will do it immediately. That is smarter. They could have made a deal the last time before we went through, you know, a big attack on them,” he explained.
This threat comes after U.S. forces reportedly destroyed three Iranian nuclear facilities earlier this year, an action Trump has praised as decisive. Netanyahu had previously informed Trump of Iran’s recent advancements in its ballistic missile program, adding urgency to their discussions.
Regarding the prospect of regime change in Iran, Trump did not provide a definitive stance but focused on the country’s internal unrest. He cited widespread discontent, economic instability, and the government’s violent suppression of protests as significant issues.
The meeting also provided a forum for discussing the next phase of the Gaza peace plan, with the threat posed by Iran remaining a central concern for regional stability.
