Yogita Mandavi from Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh has brought pride to the state and country with her outstanding performance in the sport of Judo. She was honoured with the esteemed Prime Minister National Child Award for her remarkable sporting achievements, as recognised by Chhattisgarh State Child Welfare Council, which runs a girls’ home in Kondagaon where Yogita was raised.

The grand ceremony was held at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi where President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu presented the national honour to Yogita Mandavi. The event recognised talented children selected from across the country for their outstanding contributions in various fields such as sports, innovation, social service, art, and culture.

It is noteworthy that Yogita Mandavi showcased her exceptional talent in Judo at a very young age. At just 13 years old, she earned the title of the state’s best Judo player. She has subsequently accumulated medals in numerous national-level competitions, demonstrating her continuous progress and determination.

Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai expressed joy at Yogita Mandavi’s achievement, wishing her a bright future, and noted that the success of talented children inspires the new generation to move forward and realize their dreams. Yogita’s accomplishment is a source of pride not only for Chhattisgarh but also a powerful inspiration for children residing in girls’ homes and child welfare institutions. She has shown that success is built on dedication and hard work towards one’s dreams, not on resource limitations.
