Questions are being raised about the propriety of FBI Director Kash Patel’s actions after he allegedly assigned FBI SWAT officers to provide personal security for his girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins. The New York Times detailed how Patel instructed two members of a specialized tactical unit to accompany Wilkins during her rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner at the NRA’s national convention held in Atlanta. These officers, accustomed to handling critical situations, were deployed to ensure her safety within the convention center. An initial security assessment by the officers determined no imminent risk, leading to their departure before the event concluded. It is understood that both Wilkins and Patel observed the officers leaving, which subsequently led to a confrontation where Patel allegedly criticized the team commander for withdrawing protection and for poor communication.
