Rohini Acharya has intensified her public disclosures following her resignation from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and a declaration to disown her family. In a detailed social media post on Sunday, the former RJD candidate for Saran outlined severe personal attacks, including verbal abuse and the threat of physical violence. Acharya recounted being ‘humiliated’ and subjected to ‘filthy abuses,’ with a slipper reportedly raised to strike her. She attributed these incidents to her refusal to compromise her integrity. The emotional impact of her perceived expulsion from her family was profound, as she spoke of leaving ‘crying parents and sisters’ and feeling ‘orphaned.’ She conveyed a heartfelt wish that no daughter or sister should face a similar fate. Furthermore, Acharya addressed and vehemently denied accusations that her father’s kidney transplant was a financially driven endeavor. She claimed to have been called ‘dirty’ and accused of profiting ‘crores of rupees’ from the donation, using the funds for political gain. She offered stark advice to married women regarding parental healthcare, suggesting they encourage their brothers to arrange their own or associates’ kidneys for transplants. These allegations surfaced shortly after her announcement on Saturday to cease political involvement and sever ties with her family, influenced by Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. Confronted by the press, Acharya reiterated her grievances, naming Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, and Rameez as the architects of her estrangement, holding them accountable for her ousting and the party’s recent electoral defeat.
