Chhattisgarh Naxal Surrender: 50 Cadres, 32 Women, Hand Over Arms

A significant number of Naxal insurgents, totaling 50 individuals including 32 women, have surrendered in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh. The surrender took place at the Kamtera camp of the BSF’s 40th Battalion, where the cadres handed over 39 weapons. This event is considered a major setback for the Maoist movement in the Maad region. High-ranking Naxal leaders, including Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam, were part of the group laying down arms. The surrendered contingent also included five DVCM-rank members and 21 ACM-level cadres. Security officials view this as a crucial step in anti-Maoist operations. This initial surrender from North Maad is expected to pave the way for more, with an estimated 120 cadres poised to surrender in Bijapur soon. Efforts to integrate surrendered Naxals back into society are being intensified.
