For the past three months, the residents of Govindpur village in the Jari block of the Chainpur subdivision have been enduring a complete power outage, sparking widespread anger. The villagers explained that the village transformer was damaged by lightning, leaving the community without electricity since that incident. Despite the situation, the electricity department has yet to take steps to replace or repair the damaged transformer, leading to considerable frustration among the residents. With the absence of electricity, homes are plunged into darkness each evening, disrupting children’s studies, who are now forced to rely on candles or lamps to continue their education. The villagers are also worried about the increase in snake and scorpion activity during the monsoon season.

The villagers are demanding immediate action to either replace the damaged transformer or carry out necessary repairs to restore the electricity supply. The villagers see the department’s inaction as reflective of the district administration’s indifference. Akbar Khan, Mobarak Ansari, Zahid Ansari, Pratap Minj, Laxman Malar, Manuwar Khan, and Belal Ansari, were among the residents present, expressing their concerns and urging the authorities for a swift resolution to this pressing issue.
