Yuzvendra Chahal is set to return to Northamptonshire, as confirmed by the club. He will be playing for the team in the 2026 season. Northamptonshire County Cricket Club announced that they have signed Chahal for the upcoming season. Chahal is scheduled to participate in the One-Day Cup and County Championship in 2026 after having played in 2024 and 2025. During his previous County Championship appearances, Chahal secured 31 wickets. Northamptonshire is anticipating significant benefits from the inclusion of the Indian spinner, who has a career total of 217 wickets for India over seven years. Chahal expressed his pleasure at returning to Northamptonshire, describing it as a second home and expressing enthusiasm for contributing to the team’s achievements. Head Coach David Ripley also shared his delight at Chahal’s return, emphasizing his importance to the team. Chahal last played for India in August 2023. Despite not being part of the Indian team currently, he remains a prominent player in the IPL, with a notable record of 121 wickets in 72 ODIs and 96 wickets in 80 T20s in white-ball cricket.
