Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred Rs 10,000 to each of 75 lakh women across Bihar. The scheme, a part of the state government’s efforts, aims to encourage self-employment and empower women economically. The initiative involves an initial Direct Benefit Transfer of Rs. 10,000 to each beneficiary, with possibilities of additional funding up to Rs. 2 lakh. The program offers support in various areas, including agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, tailoring, and small-scale businesses. Self-Help Groups will provide training through community resource persons. Furthermore, the government plans to develop Gramin Haat-Bazaars to facilitate the sale of products created under the scheme. The program’s launch included a statewide program across district, block, cluster, and village levels with the participation of over 1 crore women.
