Tension and violence flared up in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, after a dispute arose from a rangoli. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commented on the Ahilyanagar incident, which took place in Yavatmal. He called for an investigation to determine if the events were part of a larger conspiracy and to identify those responsible for disrupting social harmony. He expressed concern that the situation might be an attempt at polarization. Fadnavis asserted that everyone has the right to practice their religious traditions, but generating discord among people is unacceptable.

After a demonstration became violent, Ahilyanagar police detained 30 individuals. Police had to resort to a mild lathi charge to bring the situation under control. The incident occurred this morning, starting around 7 am. It originated from a rangoli created during the Navratri festival, which contained offensive elements directed towards the Muslim community.
