A woman named Malti Kumari, 28, committed suicide while live-streaming on social media from her residence in Kadma, East Singhbhum, on Friday afternoon. The incident happened at quarter number 16/19 in the Form Area. Her husband was at his job and their children were at school. The woman reportedly used a scarf to hang herself from a fan. During the live video, Malti accused her husband, Sahdev Yadav, of causing their conflicts and daily abuse. Family members rushed her to the TMH hospital, where she was declared dead. Malti married Sahdev Yadav in 2013 and had two children with him. Sahdev Yadav is a contract employee with Tata Steel. Malti originally came from Giridih; her in-laws lived in Koderma, but she resided in Kadma with her husband and children. Following the live video, Kadma police apprehended the husband on Saturday and initiated questioning. After a post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. This incident has caused widespread grief among the family and the community.
