Police in Kishanganj, Bihar, are investigating a disturbing incident involving the desecration of a grave and the removal of a deceased tantric’s head. A young man has been arrested after being found carrying the severed head of his guru, with the apparent intention of using it for tantric rituals. The event has shocked the local community. The incident unfolded in the Madua Toli area, under the Mahin village panchayat of Kishanganj town police station. The accused, Sri Prasad, was a follower of the deceased tantric, Brijen Rai, also known as Algoo Baba. The tantric had died 15 days ago in West Bengal. Following the guru’s death, Sri Prasad traveled to West Bengal and exhumed the body. He then separated the head from the body with a sharp weapon and brought the head back to Kishanganj. The next morning, villagers noticed the grave was disturbed and the head was missing. Approximately seven kilometers from the grave, Sri Prasad was seen carrying the head in a bag, leading to his capture by villagers. Following an interrogation, the man confessed his intentions. A local resident stated that Sri Prasad also performed tantric practices and that he believed his guru possessed unique knowledge, which he sought to gain through this act. The police recovered the head, hidden by the suspect in a bamboo thicket. Authorities are coordinating with West Bengal police, where the death and burial occurred, as the investigation continues. The incident has understandably caused widespread fear among residents.
