President Donald Trump is set to meet Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the 80th high-level session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA). Trump will address the UN General Assembly in what will be his first speech to the world leaders on the UNGA platform during his second term.

During a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt mentioned that Trump will deliver a lengthy speech that will highlight American strength and will mention his accomplishments, including ending seven global wars and conflicts, within the first eight months of his second term.

Also, President Trump will be meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, along with leaders from Ukraine, Argentina, and the European Union. A multilateral meeting is also planned with representatives from Qatar, Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, the UAE, and Jordan. This speech will be Trump’s fifth appearance at the UNGA, even though it is the first during his second term. Previously, he addressed the General Assembly from 2017 to 2021, during his first term.

Moreover, President Zelenskyy of Ukraine will also meet with Trump in New York. Media reports indicate that Zelenskyy may ask for stronger sanctions against Russia from the United States. The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly started on September 9th. The UNGA provides a platform for 193 member states to discuss international issues, with each country having an equal vote.
