Meena Soreng, a resident of Konmenjra Dhangartoli village, was doing laundry near a well on Friday evening, with her two-year-old son playing nearby. The child accidentally slipped and fell into the well. Without a second thought, Meena Soreng jumped into the well to save her son. The well was full of water, and both mother and son drowned. Before this incident, there was a similar incident in Charhi police station area of Hazaribagh, where five youths died trying to save a man who jumped into a well with a motorcycle.
