Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressing gratitude for birthday wishes. During the call, Modi declared India’s willingness to aid in the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. This phone call occurred a day following Modi’s discussion with the US President on the subject of ending the ongoing war. The call served as Putin’s birthday wishes to PM Modi, marking the third instance of communication between them since the start of August. In addition to the situation in Ukraine, they also talked about the state of India-Russia relations. Modi took to social media to express his thanks, stating his commitment to strengthening the ‘Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership,’ and reiterated India’s readiness to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.
