Uttarakhand police have taken a 20-year-old man into custody for the rape and murder of a teenage girl. The incident occurred in the Udham Singh Nagar district. The suspect, Rajiv Kumar, was apprehended within 12 hours of the crime in the Amiyawala village, Jaspur area. The police have seized a blade and the clothes worn by the accused, which are considered key pieces of evidence. The victim, a student in Class 8, was in a sugarcane field collecting items for her animal when the assault happened. During the assault, the girl was raped and murdered.
