The ICC has not yet responded to the complaint nor taken any action. Notably, Pakistan’s next match is against UAE, and Pycroft is scheduled to be the referee, as per the existing schedule. If the ICC doesn’t take action regarding Pycroft, the Pakistani team might withdraw from the match. Although the tournament is organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the ICC doesn’t have a direct role, the ICC appoints match officials for tournaments with international status. The ICC has appointed only two match referees for the Asia Cup 2025. Besides Pycroft, Richie Richardson of the West Indies is the other referee.
