Spiritual guru Rambhadracharya’s statement, labeling Western Uttar Pradesh as a ‘mini Pakistan’ during a discourse in Meerut, has sparked outrage. Former Samajwadi Party leader Dr. ST Hasan has condemned the remark, viewing it as an insult to the region’s Muslim community and its broader population. Hasan underscored the harmonious relationship between Hindus and Muslims in the area, highlighting how such statements disrupt social harmony. He inquired whether the presence of Muslims in a region automatically warrants the ‘mini Pakistan’ label, labeling it as a deeply flawed and offensive viewpoint. Hasan also criticized the narrative of ‘Hindus are in danger,’ accusing individuals of using it to sow fear among Hindus. He questioned the legitimacy of such claims, given the control Hindus have over key governmental and societal institutions. He pointed out that Muslims do not propagate a narrative of being in danger because their faith is in Allah.
