The pace of election scheduling in Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh highlights differing approaches following interim government transitions. Nepal demonstrated efficiency by announcing elections shortly after its interim government was formed, with President Ramchandra Paudel setting the election date for March 5, 2026. Sri Lanka also managed to hold elections within two years of Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s resignation, resulting in Anura Dissanayake’s election as president.

However, Bangladesh, under the interim government of Muhammad Yunus, has experienced delays in setting an election timeline. Despite the appointment of Yunus as chief advisor on August 7, 2024, after Sheikh Hasina stepped down, elections have not been organized after a year.
