Anti-Immigration Protests in London Lead to Violence and Injuries; Police Respond

On Saturday, September 14, 2025, central London witnessed a massive protest against immigration, organized by far-right groups. The demonstration involved over 100,000 participants and resulted in clashes. Police reported that a number of officers were injured and subjected to attacks with various items during the protests. Videos showed large groups of people marching towards Westminster, home of the UK Parliament. The ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march was organized by Tommy Robinson, an anti-immigration activist. A counter-protest, ‘Stand Up To Racism’, was held at Whitehall, near the Parliament, with heavy police presence. The Metropolitan Police Service confirmed that 26 officers were injured, and 25 people were taken into custody. The police operation concluded, and central London returned to normal. London Mayor Sadiq Khan expressed his condemnation of the violence and the attacks on officers. The demonstrators displayed the Union flag and the St George’s Cross, and some carried American and Israeli flags. Chants critical of Prime Minister Keir Starmer were also part of the protest.
