    The joyous atmosphere of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations turned to tragedy in Hassan, Karnataka, when a truck crashed into a Ganesh immersion procession. The incident, which occurred in Mosale Hosahalli village on Friday night, claimed the lives of at least nine people and caused injuries to numerous others. Authorities confirmed that the accident took place between 8 PM and 8:45 PM. The driver of the lorry was also injured. The victims include six villagers and three engineering students. The Karnataka government announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased. Public figures such as Chief Minister Siddaramiah and former CM HD Kumaraswamy have expressed their grief and offered their support to those affected by the devastating event, extending their prayers for the deceased and the injured.
