Raipur, India – The Chhattisgarh State Child Welfare Council held its annual general assembly at the ‘Vimatara’ auditorium. Brijmohan Agrawal, the council’s president, urged the public to actively participate in supporting children with disabilities. He emphasized the importance of expanding the council’s outreach.
During his address, Agrawal clarified that the council’s mission necessitates collective societal effort. He urged all sectors of the community to actively contribute to helping children with disabilities. He encouraged council members who hold positions in state government bodies to ensure their involvement in council initiatives. He also suggested organizing more visits to the speech therapy center and other affiliated institutions to raise public awareness of the council’s activities.
The meeting commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and an offering to Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ashok Tripathi, Vice President, and Chandresh Shah, Secretary, warmly welcomed Brijmohan Agrawal.
District representatives, including Nathmal Kothari, Vishwanath Panigrahi, Arun Chhabra, Manoj Sharma, Divyansh Shekhar Chandel, Genddas Vaishnav, Manoj Kumar Singh, Kul Prakash, and Dhal Singh Sahu, were also recognized.
The council’s new logo was unveiled, and the annual report was presented by Secretary Chandresh Shah. Indira Jain presented the audit report and the budget proposal. The achievements of the council’s associated institutions were showcased through video presentations.
Former officials and members who received appointments in the Chhattisgarh government commissions and corporations were honored, including Lokesh Kavadiya, Somanath Yadav, Dr. Salim Raj, Prafful Vishwakarma, and Amarjit Singh Chhabra.
Ranjita Koreti, a young resident of the Balgrah Kondagaon, was also commended for her gold medal win at the Khelo India Judo competition.
Cultural performances by the children of Balgrah were a highlight of the event. Parents shared their experiences with speech therapy and expressed gratitude to the council. The meeting concluded with tributes to the late J. P. Sabu and late Shekhar Chandel. The program was led by Joint Secretary Rajendra Kumar Nigam, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Sunita Chansoria.
