Bangladesh commenced their Asia Cup 2025 journey with a resounding seven-wicket win over Hong Kong. The match, held in Abu Dhabi, saw Bangladesh chase down a target of 144 runs with ease, reaching the score in 17.4 overs while losing only three wickets. The highlight of the match was the performance of captain Liton Das, who scored a brilliant half-century. Hong Kong, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, faced an uphill battle, as their innings never truly got going. Nizakat Khan was the top scorer for Hong Kong, with 42. Bangladesh’s bowlers, including Taskin Ahmed, Tanjim Hasan Sakib, and Rishad Hossain, kept the pressure on, taking two wickets each. In their chase, Bangladesh lost an early wicket but then saw Liton Das and Towhid Hridoy establish a crucial partnership, with Das scoring 59 off 38 balls, including six boundaries and a six. Hridoy contributed 35 runs, ensuring a comfortable victory. Bangladesh’s comprehensive win was a display of strong bowling and confident batting.
