The Taliban has mandated the removal of 51 subjects from the educational curriculum in Afghan schools, citing their opposition to Islamic values. This follows similar measures already taken at the university level. The affected subjects encompass a range of topics, including national symbols, human rights, and cultural observances like Teacher’s Day and Mother’s Day. The removed content was previously taught across all grade levels, from primary to secondary school. The Taliban administration has not yet provided any official statement about this latest directive. The changes reflect the group’s broader objective of reshaping the educational landscape to align with its ideological framework.
