A Delhi court has reserved its judgment on the charges in the Land for Jobs case, which involves prominent figures like Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family. The CBI’s charge sheet accuses them of providing jobs in the Railways in exchange for land acquisitions. The court is set to announce its decision on October 13. Lawyers for Lalu Yadav have sought to dismiss the CBI FIR, claiming the case lacks the necessary legal foundation. They have characterized the case as politically motivated and disputed any direct link between job appointments and land deals. Evidence of land purchases through legitimate financial transactions was presented. Arguments on behalf of Rabri Devi highlighted that the purchase of land using money is not illegal and that no special favors were granted to any candidates. The Delhi High Court had previously dismissed a plea from the RJD Chief to stay the trial, which centers on allegations that Yadav secured railway jobs through land transactions during his tenure between 2004 and 2009.
