The Supreme Court has taken immediate action concerning the widespread flooding and heavy rainfall across North India. A suo motu notice has been issued, targeting the Central government and four states, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and parts of Delhi and Haryana. The Court has given the involved parties three weeks to respond. The Chief Justice observed the severe impact in Punjab, describing the destruction of agricultural lands and villages, and underscored the importance of harmonizing development with environmental preservation.
