BP Harish, a BJP MLA in Karnataka, is facing legal action after making offensive statements about Superintendent of Police (SP) Uma Prashanth. The complaint, lodged by the SP, led to an FIR being registered against Harish under BNS Section 79 and 132. The MLA’s remarks, made at a Reporters’ Guild event, included a derogatory comparison of the officer’s conduct. This incident is one of several where politicians have been accused of disrespecting female officers in the state. Another case involved BJP MLC N Ravikumar and Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh.
